Happy St David’s day to all of our customers! St David is the patron saint of Wales, who is celebrated by the wearing of a leek or a daffodil on March 1st.

The wearing of leeks is patriotic tradition, which allegedly began during a battle where a troop of Welshmen were able to distinguish each other from a group of their English enemies, who were dressed similarly, by wearing leeks. The daffodil is a relatively recent alternative emblem.

St. David's Day is becoming more commonly celebrated with public events. Many Welsh towns hold an annual parade, with the largest taking place in Cardiff every year, while concerts are often held in pubs, clubs, and other venues.
